The Blinken Open Society Archives of Central European University (Budapest), Hungary, has announced a fall workshop for scholars of the Cold War and users of Radio Free Europe archival materials. Blinken OSA houses the Radio Free Europe and samizdat collections as well as the human rights records collection. The workshop is also open to scholars using Hoover's Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty records and researchers who have been working on cultural, economic, political, social and scientific aspects of Communism and the Cold War. Scholars are invited to discuss their use of Cold War archives for writing political, social, or cultural histories, and to reflect on their ethical, methodological, and epistemic dilemmas and choices. They should turn their particular case studies into reflexive contributions about the challenges of different archives.
