His Royal Highness Prince Radu of Romania discussed what he termed "the paradoxical and passionate transformation" of Romanian economics and politics when he visited the Hoover Institution on Thursday, April 3. Prince Radu detailed the strides forward since market freedoms and democracy swept that country in 1989 with the fall of dictator Nicolai Ceausescu. During his talk, which was made as a special representative of the Romanian government, he noted the vital and continuing connections of almost 140 years between the United States and Romania and its southeast European neighbors.
