The Chinese Communist Party announced the implementation of regulations to restrict the production of fentanyl precursors, all but admitting that their policy of permitting and incentivizing the production caused much of the fentanyl crisis.

Markus Garlauskas and Matthew Kroenig argue that if Beijing decides to use force to annex Taiwan, the conflict is unlikely to remain isolated to Taiwan with North Korea using the opportunity to use force as well.
