The delegation was led by Shengqun Yang, deputy director (vice minister) of the center, accompanied by Jianqi Yan, the center’s deputy secretary general, and four officials and researchers from the center. During their visit the delegation was warmly received by librarian Paul Thomas, who then took the visitors on a tour of the Hoover Archives. Of special interest were the collections documenting the history of modern China, a portion of which was presented by Research Fellow Hsiao-ting Lin and Assistant Archivist Lisa Nguyen. Their presentation included the Chinese Communist Party collections, the T.V. Soong Papers, the Nym Wales Papers, the Peng Shuzhi Papers, and duplicates of Chiang Kai-shek’s and Chiang Ching-kuo’s diaries.
