While the shift from print to digital remade all of society, it failed to revolutionize public education as many had hoped, because of chaotic decentralized adoption, uneven use, and weak teacher supports. Technology-enhanced learning can still succeed if schools work together to make the best use of tech, especially AI, in ways that encourage student creativity and critical thinking, with universal access to broadband connectivity and learning devices.
