About

Lieutenant Colonel Robin Johnson (ret.) served over twenty years in the US Army before making her transition into the comedy and veteran support space. Her career highlights include five deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq, commanding at the company and battalion levels, and serving as the special assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

After retiring from the army, Johnson discovered her new mission to heal people, organizations, and communities through humor. A strong suicide prevention advocate, she created HEAL*ARIOUS, a cognitive behavioral therapy–based program for improving psychological performance. She works in collaboration with mental health clinicians to develop customized programming to improve individual resiliency and organizational culture with laughter.

Johnson is a certified humor professional through the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor and teaches the course Problem Framing through Humor for the Institute of Defense and Business. She is also an internationally touring stand-up comedian and TEDx speaker and has been featured in USA Today and on Fox and ABC. Johnson currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina, and when not making people laugh can be found cheering on her two children from the soccer field sidelines.
