About

Matthew Brown is president and CEO of Chimney Trail. He leads a team of mental health care experts in combating pathological anxiety, depression, and suicide with preventive cognitive behavioral therapy.

Born south of Annapolis, Maryland, his first calls to service were inspired by US Naval Academy midshipmen. Following in their footsteps, he is a member of the USNA Class of 2005. At sea, he served aboard destroyers and cruisers in various named campaigns. He was officer of the deck during counter-piracy hostage rescue efforts, founder of MNF-1 counter-indirect fires group, and operations officer for the US Navy's ballistic missile defense warships in Rota, Spain. Ashore, he served as aide-de-camp for the director of strategy at US Joint Forces Command, as a fellow with the chief of naval operations’ Strategic Studies Group, and as senior adviser for naval special warfare innovation.

His time on active duty culminated in command of the mine countermeasures warship USS Scout (MCM 8). This experience inspired him to create Chimney Trail, which he’s grown from idea to trusted mental health care resource for the US Department of Defense and Fortune 500 companies. He lives in Colorado with his wife, Jen, and daughters Ainsley, Clarke, and Norah.
