Krishna Sharma is a policy fellow with the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. His research focuses on migration dynamics and knowledge sharing, particularly circular migration from emerging economies. Sharma investigates the impact of immigration policies on both sending and host nations, exploring their role in fostering innovation, human capital development, and economic growth.

Sharma’s expertise extends into monetary economics, machine learning applications in economics, and development economics, emphasizing the role of institutions in driving growth. Before joining Hoover, he worked as a research consultant at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, where he contributed to policy research and public finance evaluations. He has also collaborated with international organizations such as the World Bank and the United Nations, analyzing socioeconomic policies, climate resilience, and the relationship between subjective well-being and income.

Sharma holds a PhD in economics from Clemson University and a master’s degree in economics from South Asian University, New Delhi.
