Free market economist June E. O’Neill served on the Council of Economic Advisors during the Nixon administration and was director of the Congressional Budget Office from 1995 until 1999.

O’Neill is the author of noted books and articles on the economics of human capital, wage differentials based on gender, education and race, and health care reform. O’Neill graduated from Sara Lawrence College in 1955 and received a PhD in economics from Columbia University. Following her posts in government she served as director of the Center for Study Business and Government at Baruch College, where she recently retired as the Morton Wollman Professor of Economics. She also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.
