About

Jonathan Roll is the Barry and Teri Volpert Family Postdoctoral Fellow at the Hoover Institution's History Lab. He focuses his research at the nexus of economics and security policies, great-power politics, and Middle East security dynamics.

In addition to pursuing his academic work, Roll was among the founders of Israel's epidemic intelligence unit within the Ministry of Health and was the first director of its global epidemic monitoring division during and following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Roll received MA and PhD degrees in international politics and a BA in economics and political science from Tel Aviv University, Israel.
