About

Jacob D. Light is a Hoover Fellow at the Hoover Institution. His research is centered on labor economics and the economics of education, with a particular focus on higher education. Light’s recent work examines the supply side of higher education, exploring how universities make decisions about course offerings and faculty hiring in response to changing social, political, and economic conditions. He also investigates broader trends in higher education and its connections to the labor market.

Light holds a PhD in economics from Stanford University and a BS in economics and mathematics from the University of Michigan. Prior to launching his academic career, he worked as a research analyst at the Brattle Group.
