The Hoover Institution National Security Task Force hosted a round table discussion with Admiral Philip S. Davidson, Commander at US Indo-Pacific Command.

Task Force participants drew on the USINDOPACOM Commander’s extensive experience across the globe as a surface warfare officer to locate the current security situation in Pacific within a  historical, and future, arc. The Indo-Pacific combatant command, one of the six global geographic combatant commands which integrate the operations of different branches of the United States military, spans 36 nations, 5 U.S. allies, and half of the world’s population. Participants discussed security challenges and opportunities across the many levels in which they present themselves—economic, domestic political, diplomatic, and military—in this dynamic region.
