Before her election to the Senate, she represented Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District. Michael Auslin is the Payson J. Treat Distinguished Research Fellow in Contemporary Asia at the Hoover Institution. He specializes in current and historical U.S. policy in Asia and political and security issues in the Indo-Pacific region. A best-selling author, his latest book is Asia's New Geopolitics: Essays on Reshaping the Indo-Pacific.
