Finding aids to the following Latin American collections are now available through the Online Archive of California.
This collection is comprised of printed matter and research materials relating to the history and modern politics of Bolivia. The printed matter consists of items that largely pertain to Bolivian leftist authors and organizations. Additional research materials and notes concern land use and property issues in Bolivia during the 18th and 19th centuries, used as the basis of Herbert S. Klein's work, Haciendas and Ayllus: Rural Society in the Bolivian Andes in the 18th and 19th Centuries (1993).
Herard von Santos M. Interviews
Containing digital sound recordings and transcripts of interviews of former Salvadoran military officers and guerrillas, this collection documents guerrilla warfare and counterinsurgency operations in El Salvador in the 1970s and 1980s.
The papers of this Mexican leftist activist include materials relating to Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional guerrillas in Nicaragua, as well as writings and letters by the Sandinista leader Carlos Fonseca.
These materials relate to General Manuel Noriega of Panama, his trial for drug trafficking, and American-Panamanian relations. Also included are United States Department of State documents released in response to Freedom of Information Act requests and other materials used as research for the book, Our Man in Panama: How General Noriega Used the United States and Made Millions in Drugs and Arms (New York, 1990).
