Featured Researchers
Visiting researcher Stipe Kljaic consulted collections related to political emigrants and dissidents who, after leaving communist Yugoslavia, lived in the USA. Kljiac is participating in an international research project to create a comprehensive on-line database (digital registry) of existing collections on the history and forms of cultural opposition to the ruling regime in the former European communist states, in order to make these various sources easily accessible and more visible to the wider public.
Lyudmila Shpileva, Senior Librarian at the New York Public Library, visited Hoover to investigate the letters and private library of Ivan Petrushevich. Petrushevich was a Ukrainian journalist, writer, translator, political activist, and public figure. Read about Shpileva's research here.
