Lanhee J. Chen is the David and Diane Steffy Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution; director of Domestic Policy Studies and lecturer in the Public Policy Program at Stanford University; lecturer in law at Stanford Law School; and an affiliate of the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford. Chen deconstructs the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and discusses the act’s future and the implications of what is next. Chen notes that one’s impression of the ACA is colored by partisanship. For most Republicans the law is awful; for most Democrats the law is great. Furthermore, the ACA is already entrenched in our health care system so making changes difficult.
