In its ongoing effort to rewrite global norms to serve its purposes, the Chinese Communist Party is overturning the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and asserting far-reaching sovereignty claims.

Despite its progress on AI, Reuters reports that the Chinese Communist Party may find it difficult to take advantage of the new technology given political constraints.  In a related story, the Party’s ever-increasing purges appear to be damaging the core competencies of Chinese Governance, undermining the Party’s legitimacy even as it tries hard to bolster it.

Actions by the United States and the PRC are further fracturing global supply chains.
