Vance Serchuk is the executive director of the KKR Global Institute, the geopolitical analysis unit of the investment firm KKR, and a managing director if its Americas Private Equity Industrials Team, where he leads coverage of aerospace and defense investments. He is also a navy reserve intelligence officer, currently assigned to the US Pacific Fleet, former columnist, and cofounder of the Afghan Future Fund.

Prior to joining KKR, Serchuk served for six years as the national security advisor to Senator Joseph Lieberman (I-CT) and a professional staff member on the US Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. He was a monthly columnist for the Washington Post and a Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow in Japan; his writings have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Foreign Affairs, The Atlantic, and Politico. He is on the boards of Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty and the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Yale Law School and was a Fulbright Scholar in the Russian Federation.
