Shlomo Brom

Brig. Gen. (ret.) Shlomo Brom is a visiting fellow with the National Security and International Policy team at the Center for American Progress. He is also a senior research fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies at Tel Aviv. He retired from the Israel Defense Forces, where he held the position of director of strategic planning in the general staff, in 1998. He was also the deputy national security advisor, 2000–2001. He participated in peace negotiations with Jordan, Syria, and the Palestinians, and in Middle East Arms Control and Regional Security talks during the 1990s. He published numerous papers on Middle Eastern national security and foreign policy issues.
