Michael McConnell, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and the Richard and Frances Mallery Professor and director of the Constitutional Law Center at Stanford Law School, will participate in a roundtable discussion on Thursday, April 12, 2012, that will include notable scholars Kurt Lash (Illinois) and Philip Hamburger (Columbia). Presented by the Stanford Constitutional Law Center and the Stanford Law Review, the discussion will center around the original understanding of the Privileges (or Immunities) Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The panelists will “explore the original understanding of the clause, and the implications of that understanding for The Slaughterhouse Cases and contemporary doctrine.” (Stanford Law School)
