Senior Program Manager, Hoover History Lab

As Senior Program Manager, Cheryl Steets works with the next generation of Hoover History Lab scholars to help develop and promote their work in the media. She also builds partnerships and collaborations in the Education sector to foster the development of enrichment materials, publications, multimedia, and events that will improve the teaching of history in America.  Her other responsibilities include helping to develop and promote the publications and work of exceptional undergraduates at the Hoover History Lab.

 

Cheryl’s professional background includes two decades of executive-level leadership in marketing communications initiatives for prominent technology companies, plus ten years of editorial experience for educational publishers. A historical linguist by academic training, concentrating in Sanskrit and early Persian languages, Cheryl holds a PhD from UCLA in Indo-European Studies and served as a teaching assistant/teaching fellow in UCLA’s Classics department for seven years.

Program Manager, Hoover History Lab

Lea Limgenco is Program Manager for the Hoover History Lab, working under the supervision of director Stephen Kotkin. Lea plans and coordinates logistics for all Hoover History Lab events, including all conferences, book talk events, Hoover Fellows workshops, and student fellowship workshops. She also organizes History Lab biweekly lunch gatherings.

Megan Ring

Research Program Manager

Megan Ring is a research program manager for Institutional Programming. She is the personal assistant to Hoover Senior Fellow Victor Davis Hanson as well as Program Coordinator for Hoover Senior Fellow Russell Berman at the Working Group on the Middle East and the Islamic World.  Her early work included several years in London with a conservative research group, as a research assistant to a Member of Parliament, a stint at Wimbledon and later, in DC, with Larry King Live.  Before coming to Hoover, Megan was, for 20 years, assistant to Dr. Fouad Ajami at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies.  She came to Hoover with Dr. Ajami when he became a senior fellow.  She has a BA in International Relations from UCLA and an MA in War Studies from King’s College London.

Amber Sanchez Crowe

Amber Sanchez Crowe

Program Administrator

Amber Sanchez Crowe currently serves as a Program Administrator at the Hoover Institution. Since March 2022, under the leadership of Sir Niall Ferguson, Amber has overseen project management for the second volume of Henry Kissinger's biography and provided administrative support for the Applied History Working Group's annual symposium and seminars.

 

Amber has over 12 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, major donor engagement, and administrative support. Her previous roles at Stanford University include serving as an Executive Assistant at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR), where she played a key role in supporting the Director, Development, and Operations.

 

She holds certifications in Administrative and Executive Assistance from UCSC Extension Silicon Valley and has completed programs in Human Resource Development from San Jose State University. Amber is known for her collaborative approach, creativity, and team spirit.
