ABOUT EDUCATION NEXT

Mission Statement
In the stormy seas of school reform, this journal will steer a steady course, presenting the facts as best they can be determined, giving voice (without fear or favor) to worthy research, sound ideas, and responsible arguments. Bold change is needed in American K–12 education, but Education Next partakes of no program, campaign, or ideology. It goes where the evidence points.

Peer Review Policy:
All papers submitted to the research section of Education Next are subjected to peer review. The proposed paper is submitted to scholars thought to be knowledgeable about the topic under discussion. A double-blind process is followed. Reviewers are not told the identity of the author, and the author, though given a copy of the comments, is not told the identity of the reviewer. Reviews from at least two scholars must be received prior to publication. Editors may ask authors to revise papers in light of reviewer comments. A decision whether or not to publish is based on reviewer comments and the editors' own assessments of the quality of the paper.

The opinions expressed in Education Next are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the Editorial Board of Education Next, the Board of Trustees of Leland Stanford Junior University, or the sponsors of Education Next.
